Ce séminaire a pour objet de mettre en évidence l’importance du rapport à l’altérité dans la constitution des identités en Irlande à la période considérée. Pour la période faisant suite à 1922, le cadre géographique retenu sera celui de l’Etat Libre d’Irlande puis de la République d’Irlande. D’un point de vue théorique, le séminaire sera l’occasion de réfléchir au positionnement de l’Irlande par rapport aux grands modèles de l’interculturalité, multiculturalité et transculturalité.
This seminar will examine how the relationship to otherness contributed to the shaping of identities in Ireland. Our analysis of the post-1922 period will focus on the Irish Free State and the Republic of Ireland. The seminar will provide the opportunity to explore the recent theories of interculturality, multiculturalism and transculturality as relevant theoretical frameworks for the study of Ireland.
