This module is an introduction to international development seen through a sociological lens. We will review key theories of development and how these theories have influenced development policies and practices from the 1950s onwards. The aim of this course is to equip you with tools that will allow you to critically think about development policies, including ideologies on which they are based, the complexity of development issues, and their historical context.
