L3 - S6 - Renforcement Culture BCC4 - Toleration, Theism and Enthusiasm : Religious Matters in the Long Eighteenth Century

This course will explore the great religious trends of Britain in the long eighteenth century. It will deal with the great theologico-political controversies of the centuries, starting with the debates on religious toleration. We will also work on the development of rational deism and on the great awakening, notably linked with the development of Methodism.
