The European Union has become an ever more significant global actor. It operates in an increasing number of policy areas on the world stage.
The objective of the course is to provide an overview over EU External Action Studies, both in terms of theoretical approaches and in terms of the state of empirical analysis and assessment.
Main question for the course is if and how the EU exerts international influence beyond its member states. The course is based on the introduction of major concepts and theories and collective exercises studying major case studies in each area of interest.
