Introduction to Shakespeare (The Merchant of Venice) and the short story. The semester will be divided into two equal parts, with six weeks devoted to the Shakespearian play and six weeks devoted to the study of different short stories.

By the end of the semester, you will (hopefully) be comfortable with analysing a Shakespearian text and short stories, familiar with the specificities of the different genres, and will have gained skills in writing "commentaires" and "dissertations".
