The Course of Human Rights is divided into two parts : Human Rights I (European perspective), taught by Mrs Schaff and Human Rights II (comparative perspective), taught by Mrs Bousta.

This Moodle only concerns Human Rights II, but it also describes the mode of evaluation that is common to both courses.

Prof. Bousta's course provides an analysis of current issues related to Human rights from a comparative perspective. Without claiming to be exhaustive, it aims at describing how certain rights and fundamental freedoms provided for at International and European levels are implemented in selected legal orders. It underlines the differences and the similarities that allow the concepts and rights to be consistent and effective in all countries.

The sessions invite the students not only to enhance their critical thinking on certain concepts (e.g. proportionality, “end of life” and euthanasia, etc.), but also to stay connected to the practical dimension of Human Rights. Hence, a session will be dedicated to a presentation followed by conversations with a speaker who has a strong background in this field (NGO, international or European institutions, etc.).
