This course is an introductory
course to human resources management allowing students to discover a set of
major cross-cutting issues through sequences based on the teacher’s
presentations and practical cases, as well as a reading of texts from major
books and journal articles. The main objective is to make students reflect on
human resources and employment management practices, on the contexts in which
these practices take place and evolve, as well as on the theoretical
foundations of this discipline. It explores a number of issues in human
resources management, including human resource strategy, managing HR globally,
workforce planning, recruitment, selection, performance management and
appraisal, compensation, training and development, and labor relations.
